In every pageant, there is always a secret behind the lights, stage and crown. By connecting the dots every year, I've come up with a theory with all the co-incidences happening in the Miss Universe pageant.

Let's get more specific to the host countries. Who would even know that a host can depict the actual result of the competition? Any ideas now? Here's what I'm talking about. The scope of this topic is from 1998 to 2011 since, the new era of Miss universe started in 2010.

ASIAN HOST COUNTRY

THE STAGE DESIGN

Asian host country provided one of the most memorable stage design in

Miss Universe history. Dominating the concept is the known culture of the country; with touch of tropical green leaves and water as backdrop. The experience is truly an Asian touch.

THE GAME PLAY

Aside from the differences of geographical location, there are also distinct taste and preference of one country to the other. Mostly in Asia, people find the caucasian look as extra special and unique. No wonder, why most Miss Universe winners from Asian country are doll-like beauties; usually they were the front runners of the competition.

Asia as host country provided one of the most memorable result as it feeds the satisfaction of pageant enthusiast. It maybe very predictable (leesens the excitement) but  the feeling will be like a Disney movie with a happy ending.

BEST WINNERS

Asian host country in the decade crowned the most celebrated candidate in terms of performance and beauty. (left) Natalie Glebova of Canada won Miss Universe 2005 in Bangkok Thailand and (right) Dayana Mendoza of Venezuela won her country's 5th Miss Universe crown in Nha Trang, Vietnam.

BEST FINAL TWO

Aside from great winners. It is also observed that 2005 and 2008 editions provided the strongest top two in the decade. (left) Natalie of Canada and Cynthia of Puerto Rico are the favorites of pageant sites and fans for Miss Universe title. (right) Dayana of Venezuela and Taliana of Colombia are also favored. Taliana earlier in the competition, ranked 1st in both swimsuit and evening gown round.

THE UNEXPECTED

Since its from Asia, people expected Asians to dominate but to everyone's surprise, only one from the continent in 2005 penetrated the semi finals courtesy of Miss Indonesia and only two in 2008 by Miss Japan and Miss Vietnam. All ladies didn't advanced further in the competition and none of them were heavy favorites in their respective years.
