MISS UNIVERSE

GOWN

REVIEW

"I always look forward to the evening gown portion of any pageant.

It is as if I am watching the ultimate gladiator glamazon battle of fabrics,

crystals, and stitches where in the best gown shall not falter and make

any girl stumble into her untimely pageant death."

WICKEDLY ELEGANT

THAILAND

Yumi Kim

This is what mod-classic should look like. Bubble gum blue with a dash of maturity with this off-shoulder, -mermaid-cut gown makes any girl look like a princess living her royal dream. I like the simplicity that this gown radiates yet it gives us the pleasure of constantly lingering into our inner Goddess veins.

KOREA

Yumi Kim

If the sultry Jessica Rabbit would go Asian, she would definitely look like Ms. Korea. The power of the color red suits her porcelain white skin. Not to mention, the perfect fit of innocence and scandal that is perfectly synergized with this look. The scandalously tasteful low half heart- shaped bodice makes this flirtatious concept far beyond hoochie.

VENEZUELA

Gabriela Isler

Old Hollywood will never get you wrong. The sheer elegance of this white serpentine gown makes Ms. Venezuela the one to beat in this year’s batch. Proportionate details of symmetry and lines make this gown red carpet ready. They are not focusing on distractive impact, but they revolve instead into what a queen should look like. Stefania v.02, here she comes!

CHILE

Maria Matthei

I love the Arabian Genie vibe Ms. Chile is giving. This pastel coral narrow A-line cut gown with a halter neck line and cute belt matches her wonderful facial bone structure, making her look beyond exotic – almost sublime. It is like your wish is our command. *ting*

DOMINICAN REPUBLIC

Alright, I have to admit, I am not solely focusing on the gown. But damn, Ms. Dominican Republic’s look is fashion spread worthy. Her boho hair to her make-up to her accessories makes this look Teen Vogue. The monochromatic train adds a bit more spice to the gown thus making it land on my top 5 list.
